ASSIGNMENT 1: BUSINESS EMAIL DUE: SUNDAY, FEB. 23 INTRODUCTION: Today everyone utilizes email. In fact, it is the most utilized form of business communication. A professional business email that is well executed can lead to business success, whereas a poorly conceived and implemented email with unclear ideas, lack of proper paragraph spacing, or personal names/trademark misspellings may damage a reputation and even lead to business failure. GOALS: The goals for Assignment 1 are to: 1. Find and present essential information concerning a business organization (non-profits such as hospitals, universities, charities, foundations, etc. will not be accepted); 2. Utilize Business Insights Global Online Database; and 3. Write a professional Business Email. TASK: You will write a professional Business Email and send it to me, Professor Polo Merguzhis. Its format is shown on page 2 of this instruction, and an example is provided on page 3. The Email must include the following three elements: 1. Organization: This section gives an overview of the organization you have selected, and includes: (a) its trade name; (b) ownership: (c) location; (d) product/services; (e) target market(s); and (f) mission and goals. In addition, it provides the organization's: (a) primary industry; (b) primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code or SIC code number and description; and (c) top competitors. This information can be found in Business Insights Global from the Lehman College Leonard Lief Library. 2. Focus: This section gives a short description of the (a) product; (b) service; or (c) current issue you have chosen to study about the company. 3. Rationalization: This section provides an explanation as to why you selected the company, and the reasons for your researching its chosen focus.
