Assignment Objective:

The aim of this assignment is to become familiar with the concept of stakeholders in the development of projects that have sustainability goals. The project that we will be working with in this course is that of tourism destinations. According to IGI Global a tourism destination is a 'place of interest that tourists visit, typically for its inherent or an exhibited natural or cultural value, historical significance, natural or built beauty, offering leisure and amusement.' A stakeholder is anyone involved with a particular tourism destination. In other words, anyone who holds a metaphorical 'stake' in the success of a destination.

Instructions:

Destination Selection

  • Please choose 1 of the following 3 tourism destinations, and remember that you will be working with this destination for the remainder of the semester:
    • Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada
    • The City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada
    • Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada
