Assignment 3.8 (10 points) Let us say that the mayor of Amsterdam would like to implement a programme that improves the living conditions for the Bijlmer, a neighbourhood in the South of Amsterdam (please see Figure 1). The programme is expected to increase the share of open space in the Bijlmer with 5 percentage points and will lead to an expected reduction in the share of people that feel unsafe of 2.5 percentage points. The expected costs are #10 million. Given that the number of housing units in the targeted neighbourhood is 12,341 and the average house price is - 179,300, . Please calculate the total benefits of the programme using the coefficients obtained under As- signment 3.6. If your coefficients do not make much sense, use the coefficients obtained in As- signment 3.2, but clearly explain this when doing so. . Please carefully show your calculation. .
