Case Study 1: Framework Contracts for Medicine Inventory Management in Public Healthcare (Attached)

The Pakistan Minister of Health received a report from Shahbaz Yasin on the status and dynamics of P&SHD. He expressed his great concern with P&SHD's overall preparedness. He instructed Shahbaz Yasin to approach LMPGMI (Pty) Ltd - the South East Asia office, one of the Government appointed standby Project Management experts for the next 5 years, for help. He wanted LMPGMI to review all the issues connected with medicine procurement (specifically on the issues of medicine shipment, warehousing capacity and general issues of choice of the procurement configuration).

As one of the Senior partners of Lonwabo/Muller/Pooe/Gordhan/Mpodumo Project Management International (Pty) Ltd (well known as LMPGMI) with offices across the African continent, Europe, USA and South East Asia you have been approached by Shahbaz Yasin to address the Minister of Health's issues and provide a report on what is to be done and the way forward.

TASKS:

(a) Review the current status of P&SHD

(b) Identify current challenges by considering all the salient issues of medicine shipment, warehousing capacity and general issues of choice of procurement configuration.

(c) Prepare a report covering issues under (a) and (b) above and make recommendations for P&SHD.
