For this case study you are to research (search the Internet) a real life security or emergency management event that affected a hotel (or group of hotels). It must be an event that resulted in injury, loss of life, damage to property or disruption of normal hotel services (e.g., terrorist attack, fire, earthquake, protesting, power outage, flooding, bomb threat, criminal activity, COVID-19, etc.). The event can be recent or could have occured several decades ago. It does not matter when it a happened or in what country. The event has to have occured in a traditional traditional hotel/motel environment andNOThome sharing (e.g., Airbnb).
You are to answerallthe following questions:
1) What happened and why did it happen (if applicable)?5 marks(Give some introduction background and context such as where is the hotel located, how big was the hotel, it in an urban or rural area, etc). please provide link for the references
2) How did the hotel respond to the event? Was the event foreseeible or preventable?5 marks(Based on media coverage how well did the hotel staff respond to the event? If it isn't obvious of how the hotel responded just give your opinion on whether you think the hotel was prepared for the event. Explain whether the hotel should have been prepared for this event and if it was foreseeible or preventable).
