Assignment: Macroeconomic commentary Part 1: Selecting the articles. Group work: 2-3 members per group. Mark: 15 points (10%) Rationale: This commentary enables students to demonstrate the application of their knowledge and understanding of economic theory in relation to real-world situations. 1. Articles: Students need to look for contemporary articles (At least 3-5) relating to current events on any macroeconomic topic. The commentary has to based on the articles provided. The articles may be from a newspaper, a journal or the internet. The articles have to be clearly numbered/labelled as Article 1, Article 2 and Article 3. The link to the article must be provided at the beginning. The articles selected should provide enough scope for analysis in the commentary. An evaluative approach is expected in the commentary and hence conflict views in articles are recommended. Clearly highlight which parts of the article will be used to write the commentary.
