Assignment Overview: CRM400 is designed to provide students with the essential skills required to be a sales professional in a Business-to-Business (B2B) environment. The tourism industry offers a myriad of sales career opportunities whether you are interested in working for an airline, cruise line, hotel, resort or at a tour operator. Sales position job titles vary from sales representative, sales manager, account manager, district sales manager, regional sales manager to business development manager. It is important to understand companies in those industries and identify career opportunities to help you discover the necessary skills and responsibilities you will require to secure a future sales industry career.
Framework for the Assignment:
1) Create a 3-minute VIDEO using the scenario outlined in Point 2 below. (You may create a video on a personal device or use ZOOM or Teams.) A PowerPoint presentation and visual aids are not expected, but you must be visible throughout the entire video. (If you create the video on a device and your video is too large to upload to BlackBoard, create an UNLISTED YouTube video and submit the link to that video on a word document for your Professor to use. Instructions on how to do so are at the end of this assignment.)
2) For the purpose of this Exercise, the scenario is that after graduating from Seneca College, your goal is to get your dream job as a Sales representative for an Airline, Cruise line or Canadian Tour Operator. Choose a company from the 3 Sample Job Descriptions listed below that interests you as a place that you would like to work at, in a Sales position.
Key Definition Meanings:
An air line is a company that owns and operates many aircraft flying various domestic and international routes.
A cruise line is a company that owns and operates cruise ships and sails them to many destinations around the world.
A Tour operator is a company who buys individual travel components separately from their suppliers and combines them into a package tour. It is then sold bundled with one price tag to the public directly or through travel agencies.
