ASSIGNMENT: Pick SIX pairs of variables and determine their relationships. You may not use any one variable more than twice.

Your document should have 6 parts. For each pair of variables (all 6 pair of them):

• a. Selection: Choose the variables
• b. Display: Show a visual representation of the apparent relationship;
• c. Discussion: Write a paragraph describing and discussing that relationship.

Some tips: You are to make two (2) scatterplots, two (2) side-by-side boxplots and 2 additional visual displays (another scatterplot or side-by-side boxplot or comparative bar plot). Choose your pairs of variables so that these displays are appropriate for them. For example, number each of your displays (all 6 of them), and then for the variables shown in the scatterplots, write one paragraph explaining the relationship, using your calculated correlation coefficient, and saying why you believe the relationship is a causal one (one variable explains the data in the second variable) or why you think the 'relationship' is not causal--that is, that there is another reason for the apparent relationship. If there is NO obvious relationship, explain why that is true. For the variables in the side-by-side boxplots describe their relationship using the appropriate measures of center and spread and position, along with any skewing or outliers.
