Report Format Your report must contain the following parts: These parts are taken from "Communication Skills Handbook for Accounting" by Wendy Fleet, Jane Summers, and Brett Smith. 1. Cover sheet/page This should include all the details (Full name, ID numbers and signature(s) to authenticate the originality of the assignment.)
2. Title Page The title of the report must be clearly stated. 3. Executive Summary This should include the following briefly: "the purpose (objectives) and scope of the report the type of analysis conducted (and methods used) the most important and significant findings in summary form the most important and significant recommendations" (p.59) For the purpose of this assignment, the executive summary should not exceed one page. 4. Table of contents This section should include the main section numbers to the left hand margin and their corresponding page reference to the right margin. 5. Introduction There are three parts to this section: "the authorization and purpose of the report - the reader must be told who commissioned the work and why the report was produced. any limitations encountered in the production of the report that affected the results or the ability of the writer to complete the report. the scope of the report - exactly what the report covers, how information is presented in the report, where the information for the report came from and how it was gathered (e.g. questionnaires or other research)" (p.61). 6. The body "This is the main part of the report and it must include the discussions and analysis." Furthermore, there must be "a logical sequence" in the presentation of the findings. "Headings and subheadings should be used to identity each section and introduce new ideas or directions." 7. Conclusions This section must "summarise the main points or findings of the assignment." (p.62) 8. List of references All references used in the research must be listed here alphabetically.
9. Appendices This is where the log book must be attached. The log book must be in a table format and must detail group meetings and part(s) of the report that each member is responsible for. Any absentees to any group meeting must also be stated clearly. Specific Requirements There are two parts to this assignment and these parts must be compiled into a report. Use your creativity when writing the report and addressing each of the requirements listed below. The specific requirements of these parts will form the body of the report PART A: PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT 1. Write a brief introduction or background about your chosen organization. State its mission, vision and objectives of your chosen organization and briefly state what it does. 2. What performance measurement system is currently used to measure performance in your chosen organization? Discuss the appropriateness of the performance tools used to measure performance. 3. (a) With reference to the chosen firm's mission, vision and objectives create its customized balanced scorecard. Each perspective of the balanced scorecard must have appropriate objectives, lag and lead indicators that reflect the organizations operations. General objectives and lead and lag indicators are not acceptable. b) Discuss how the BSC you have created be used to measure and manage performance. 4. With reference to the BSC that you have created in (3), draw a strategy map of the firm and briefly discuss the connections depicted on the map PART B: REWARD SYSTEMS 1. Describe and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of your chosen firms current reward system. 2. Based on your evaluation of the firm's current reward system, design a new reward system to address the weaknesses you have identified in (1). For each change reflected in the proposed reward system, you must explain the problem it is designed to resolve
