You will have two-part assignments due this week.

Assignment Instructions:

Copy from your text the two assessments below. Work and score each assessment. DO NOT send me the assessment, that is not the grade.

Assignment One:

• Self Assessment; Locus of Control, see Ch. 4 - Locus of Control attachment in the Files section of this class.
• Self Assessment 4-6; Emotional Intelligence, pages 155-156

Assignment Two:

When you have scored both assessments I want you to write what that score means TO YOU in terms of your leadership values. Was the score too low, too high, was it on target? Write what you think about these assessments and a little about the locus of control and emotional intelligence from your chapter 4.

Notice how the author of this textbook uses direct quotes from references of web pages and other books. Notice how she places the reference and page number directly after what she copies exactly. This is called "intellectual property" that she is using, it is not her words and she can quote directly but she must reference who she used it from. Once you use direct quotes you need to reference directly after, you cannot just wait for a reference page at the end, although that is also needed. Many lawsuits have happened because "intellectual property" has been used and not given credit. Bad stuff!

Interpreting Your Score

The five subscales are the key factors in narcissism. The highest possible total in each subscale is 24, with the highest possible total score of 120. The higher your scores, the more narcissistic characteristics you have. Some degree of narcissism is associated with healthy self-esteem and effective leadership.
