Assume a prospective cohort study to determine the risk of heart attack among males with varying levels of baldness was conducted. The study cohort comprised of third-year residents in a dermatology residency program. At baseline, visual baldness assessments were conducted and baldness was classified into 3 levels: none, moderate and severe. The participants were followed for 1 year to determine incidence of heart attack. There was no loss to follow up in this study. Over the course of the study, it was discovered that some of the subjects had personal history of tobacco use and family history of heart attacks as well as high blood pressure, which was not assessed at baseline. The data on the association between baldness and heart attack was statistically analyzed using one way ANOVA, with p<0.05 as level of statistical significance.
- Was the statistical test used for statistical analysis appropriate? (Explain why)
