Assume that you have an intern who was supposed to synthesize for you a sample of random copolymer poly(styrene-co-butadiene) containing 25 wt. % of polystyrene (T9=100C) and 75 wt % polybutadiene (T9=100C). The intern manufactured a sample and then, following your instructions, performed a DSC test on that sample and brought to you a thermogram showing the glass transition (Fig.4). Answer the following: 1. Is the glass transition temperature of the manufactured poly(styrene-co-butadiene) as expected from a 25 wt. \% PS/75 wt \% PB? Support your answer by analysis. (7.5p) 2. Assuming that intern could mix polystyrene and polybutadiene in a wrong weight proportion, analyze what should be the actual weight fraction of both species for the copolymer to have a Tg as shown by the DSC thermogram of Fig.4.
