Assume that you were recruited as a network administrator in a middle sized company that has two production servers: Server One ( _S1 ) is the live server while Server Two ( _S2 ) is the standby (cold) server. The availability of first server is 99.995% and fails every six months while Server Two takes 2 minutes to take over and becomes the live server. On one occasion, Server One failed and Server two fired up as configured, however Server Two failed after 9 minutes when became live due heavy load. Based on management decision, you were required to do the followings: 1. calculate the approximate downtime of the system during this incidence 2. What architecture would you propose to prevent such incident in the future. Keeping in mind that there was no budget available to purchase a new server.
