Attending Ms. Davina Jaid in relation to a road traffic accident on 12 March 2022 in which she was involved. Her full name is Davina Jaid and her date of birth is 14 May 2000. Ms Jaid suffered personal injuries as a result of the accident and is currently unable to work due to those injuries. Ms Jaid wishes to claim compensation for her injuries. She confirmed to me that at the time of the accident she was in good health, with good eyesight when wearing her glasses and was not intoxicated. The accident occurred on the morning of 12 March 2022 at approximately 9.30 a.m. as Ms. Jaid was alone, driving her car, a blue Range Rover, registration number J22 DAV, in an easterly direction along Bircham Street in Nottingham towards the junction with Filbert Lane. Ms. Jaid thinks she was travelling at about 40mph. The speed limit for that single carriageway road is 50mph. The weather was wet and cold for the time of year. Ms. Jaid told me she is the owner of the car. As the car was approaching the junction with Filbert Lane, a car swung round onto Bircham Street at speed, straight in front of her car. The car was coming out of Filbert Lane, having turned left onto Bircham Street, and did not have right of way and was heading for her side of the road. Ms. Jaid swerved her car round to the right to avoid the other car but hit a lamp post on the other side of the road. Ms Jaid said that she remembers being in considerable pain following the collision with the lamp post. Ms. Jaid said that a man whom she now knows to be Mr Jordan Biko arrived on the scene soon after the crash to assist. On arrival at the scene Mr Biko called an ambulance on his mobile phone and Ms Jaid was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester. The driver of the other car, the one that Ms Jaid swerved to avoid, remained at the scene and said his name was Mr Juhinder Singh. Ms. Jaid remained in hospital for two weeks. At our meeting Ms. Jaid said that she was still suffering severe pain, in particular in her back, left leg and right shoulder. At present she is unable to wash or dress herself and cannot stand or sit comfortably for long. She is being cared for by her husband. Prior to the accident Ms Jaid was a keen horse rider. But at present and for the foreseeable future she is unable to undertake any such physical activity, which she finds very depressing and upsetting. Ms. Jaid said that she had no prior history of any medical problems. She is employed as an events manager but is not yet back at work due to her injuries. Based on the figures and documents she gave to me I have assessed the value of her claim to be approximately 40,000
