Australia needs a Constitutionally entrenched Bill of Rights. Existing common law and legislative human rights protections are inadequate to fully ensure the human rights of all Australians. Adopting a Constitutionally entrenched Bill of Rights is necessary for the proper function of liberal democracy, and it is consistent with the Rule of Law and balance of powers among the Australian legislature, executive and judiciary.
