Their 13 year-old son Bart was excited benuse he had Invited three of his best friends, Peter (13 years old), Greg (16 years old), and Bobby (11 years old) Brady over to piactice snowboarding on the amazing hill in their backyard. Mr. and Mrs. Brady had let the boys snowboard at the Simpsons many times before. Once the boys arrived, they put on their gear and rushed for the door. Before they could leave, Marge reminded them to take their helmes and goggles with them for safety. Reluctantly, they grabbed their safety gear and headed out for the hill. 1 2 ii. '31? s 111i. Alter about an hour of snowboarding, the boys grew bored so Bart asked his dad if he would come out and build some snow jumps for them. Always quick to please his son, Homer hopped on his lractor, ploughed the snow into two large jumps, and returned to the house m help Marge. The boys continued to enjoy the fun but thought they would make things a little more intereing. Instead of travelling down one by one, they decided to try to go down the hill and jump in tandem. To do this, they tied a scarf around lheir waists. Bart paired up with Bobby while Greg paired up with Peter. 0n the rst attempt, they had trouble seeing the jump clearly because it was getting late in the day and they missed it entirely. Frustrated, Greg, the oldest of the Brady boys, suggested that they remove their goggles and helmes. Peter and Bobby were all for it but Bart, remembering his mother's warning, was unsure. \"Come on you big baby," shouted Greg, \"mommy won't see you!" Reluctantly, he removed his goggles and helmet and tied himself to Bobby with the scarf. Greg and Peter did the same. This time, they had a clear view of the hill and all four of them went down the hill at top speed aimed directly at the jumps. 98'7'6 lo 11 '13'12 14 Incredibly, Bart and Bobby landed without difculty and immediately started to celebrate their fantastic feat. Greg and Peter were not so lucky and as they approached the jump, their boards became entangled. Instead of landing on their feet, they landed on their backs. The minute they hit the ground Bart and Bobby knew there was trouble. Both Greg and Peter started screaming in pain. Bart quickly ran up to the house and Homer tailed the ambulance. When all lhe dust had settled, Peter had three fractured ribs and a broken arm. Although he would be in pain for several weeks while his ribs healed, he was expected to make a full recovery. Greg on the other hand had a broken back, a punctured lung, and had lost the sight in one eye. Greg was going to require intensive physical therapy and rehabilitation for a minimum of one year. 15 '17'16 20'19'18 1 _ \\/ + 110% Page'lofS 1164 words [I3 English (Canada) 3 Focus u E
