(b) A homogeneous thin disk of radius 200 mm and mass 0.6 kg shown in Figure Q2(b) is spinning relative to the axle AB at the constant angular speed @= 120 rad.s. The axle AB is supported by a ball-and-socket joints at A which at the same instant is rotating about the vertical axis at the constant angular speed 2. Given the length of axle AB is 500 mm and is 30, and neglecting the weight of the axle AB, determine at the instant shown; (1) (ii) (iii) the angular velocity and acceleration of the disk, the value of 2 for which the axle AB will remail at 30 during the motion, the dynamic reaction at A. (c) Evaluate the effect on the angle if the angular velocity of the disk is increased and justify your evaluation based on the fundamentals of rigid body dynamics. SIDE Figure Q2(b)

Step by Step Solution

There are 3 Steps involved in it

Step: 1

To solve the problem lets break it down into parts 1 Angular velocity and acceleration of the disk The angular velocity of the disk is given as 120 rads which means it is rotating counterclockwise Sin... blur-text-image
