B. Project Methodology Based on these, and other findings in the literature review, the student narrows his capstone project as follows: 1. The student will assess each unit manager in this large hospital to determine the style of leadership that they use. He will divide leaders into (a) Transformational Style Leaders, (b) Situational Style Leaders, (c) Authoritarian Style Leaders, and (d) "Other" Styles categories. He will measure job satisfaction for Staff RNs on a unit by unit basis, so as to be able to compare leadership styles and how these affect nurse job satisfaction. For example all staff RNs who work for unit managers who use a Transformational Style will be grouped together. The purpose of this project now will be to compare each style against the other two styles for job satisfaction. If a manger falls into the other styles, that manager and their staff nurses will be excluded from this study. (I realize that you may not know the differences in these leadership styles. This is not something that you need to know to complete this project. For the purposes of this project all you really need to know is that there are three possible styles of leadership
