B1. You are an engineer to support an Architect who is responsible for design and build of a new residential development with the following characteristics: (i) 8 identical blocks, each of 30 - 65 stories; (ii) Limited construction time; (iii) High environmental performance; (iv) Shortage of construction workers; and (v) It is a Government project. (a) You are requested by the Architect to prepare a statement to define the DfMA which can be used for this project. (6 marks) (b) In respect of building services engineering, suggest two (2) modulus which can be built by means of the DfMA and explain their associated advantages. (10 marks) (c) With an aid of a figure, design a fixed partition system with a void for cable duct for the purpose of rooms separation within individual flat of the residential development. (4 marks)
