Back in the late 1960's people were reporting that the prevalence of psychological disturbance among patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) was on the increase. In response, Ganz et al. (1972) conducted a study in which a psychologist interviewed samples of SLE patients coming to New York City hospital clinics. Their results showed that 24 patients had severe symptoms (e.g., extreme anxiety or depression, delusional thinking), 19 had moderate symptoms (e.g., worrying and depression), and 25 had no psychological symptoms. Test the hypothesis that the research sample points to a population where the distribution of psychological disturbance among SLE patients in is 20%, 60%, and 20% for severe, moderate, and none, respectively
