Background:

Attorney Collins has been approached by the Montgomery County High School Parents Association. News of the Latchkey's party, the graduation toast, the widespread drinking, and the serious accident that followed has been spreading around the community. The Parents Association wants Attorney Collins to present a training session for high school parents on the potential liability to them for hosting parties where alcohol is served. They want some specific questions answered.

1. What does Maryland law say about parents serving alcohol to minors?
2. Does it matter if it is hard alcohol or just beer or hard cider?
3. Does this mean parents can't serve wine at a Passover Seder?
4. What if there is a party with underage drinking on the parent's property but they are not actually serving alcohol?
5. If there is a car accident or another injury after a party, are the parents who served alcohol liable for the damages?
