Background BB4M1 Culminating Project A Canadian company wishes to expand its business abroad. They unfortunately do not have the expertise or resources to do an initial exploratory business plan for their expansion aspirations. As a "Big Time International Consultant" (BTIC), they have hired you to explore the potential of them expanding internationally. Throughout May and June, you will carry out a thorough country analysis for your client and develop a recommendation for expansion to the chosen country. You will present the business plan to the client, as well as provide them with an executive summary. REQUIREMENTS 1. Choose a Canadian business that currently does not have a significant international presence. Determine which country you are proposing for your client's international expansion. USA, UK, France, Mexico, Brazil, China, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia and the country of birth (yours or your parents) are excluded. 2. Based on the course content and class discussion, determine the appropriate factors and criteria for your analysis. Create an outline as your road map to develop your business plan. 3. Prepare and deliver a 10 (+/- 2) minute professional presentation. Content is crucial, but remember that you are also marketing yourself and your ideas (look and act the role). Your presentation slides should have limited text (the less text, the better). Reading slides to the class does not look professional - after all, you are a "Big Time International Consultant". Also, be mindful of your colour choices for the background of your slides - the projector in the classroom makes everything look dark. Avoid using white text on black - looks better on your monitor than it does projected. Avoid yellow text, it rarely looks good projected on the screen. 4. Submit a professionally looking 2-3 page executive summary with headers, margins, letterhead and watermarks. Use an appropriate font style (size 11 or 12), 1 line spacing and 1 inch margins EVALUATION The Summative Student Project represents 30 marks for your final course grade. The weights of each of the components are as follows. Please refer to the rubrics for details on evaluation criteria.
