Background Information

Greenwashing is a term used to describe the practice of making false or misleading claims about a product, service or company's environmental benefits to appear more environmentally friendly. The concept of "greenwashing" is explored in chapter 8, emphasizing "a form of adverting or public relations that deceptively provides the perception that a corporation's policies or practices are socially responsible" (Sexty, 2020, p. 139). Based on your responses, you'll need to highlight specific examples of how greenwashing deliberately occurred and which stakeholders were involved.

Tips for Successful Online Learning

Unlike in face-to-face discussions, it is difficult to tell whether people are paying attention to the online world, and it can be easy to feel isolated. One way to help your online class feel like an active community is to respond to classmates' postings. To ensure that everyone's posting receives a response, look through the postings, and respond to a posting that has not yet received a response.

Respond quickly to postings with enthusiastic acknowledgment of your classmate's contributions.

Be personal; use a conversational style.

Rather than starting a new thread, use the reply feature on the discussion board to address issues others have raised.

Practice posting succinct messages. Keep your contributions brief and to the point (no more than a screen-full).
