Since Canada legalized the use of Cannabis (Marijuana), Smoking tobacco, etc. people tend to use it more frequently which may lead them to get addicted. Legalization made a most common misconception that it is a harmless therapeutic drug. However, persistent use has serious consequences (Israel, 2022). Government and Citizens often talk about the consumption legalization benefits of Cannabis. But No one is looking forward to control and health issues because of that. Cannabis was made legal in Canada because of two major reasons; Keep it out of hands the hands of youngsters, Reduce the illegal selling of Marijuana, and Reduce Criminal activities. Whilst people misuse freedom and make it a habit of routine. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the most common disease encountered in Canada. Smoking Cigarettes and the use of cannabis and other drugs are the major cause behind around the 3 million Canadians affected by COPD. Deaddiction centers can help to reduce COPD disease statistics and make awareness in people the consequences of the use of tobacco and cannabis.
Goal and Objectives
The goal behind starting this project is to reduce the level of addiction to smoking and cannabis and other drug abuse which can also bring down the ratio of Mental diseases and COPD in residents. There are several reasons to create awareness in people and give a clear picture against the misconception about the use of these products. Open a deaddiction center within a hospital, therefore, Patients with COPD, Mental Health issues, and other diseases can understand the difference between use and misuse as well as save their loved ones from these types of addictions.
5. Deliverables:
- Non-medical treatmentof withdrawal symptoms in a hospital setting like exercise, healthy diet, relieving symptoms with over-the-counter drugs, and sufficientsleeping.
- Constant supervision and care for those who require a disciplined and secure environment to refrain from.
- Setting up therapy sessions for allpatients to assist them in getting an education, staying sober, and moving on to other community supports.
- Setting up the medical services and interventions required for people who run the danger of developing major medical illnesses because ofoverdose or utilization of these addictions.
- Set up a programfor family support to assist people in identifying problems and objectives relating to stress management, anxiety, and depression.
