Bacteria growing in human guts have physiological differences in terms of their preferences for optimal growth, particularly the pH. This characteristic influence the presence/absence and abundance of microbes in the guts. In order to explore the effect of habitat preferences, scientists developed an experiment assessing the growth of 2 species of bacteria under a very low pH level (similar to gastric conditions). The hypothesis was that highly tolerant species (Species A) should outperform less tolerant species (Species B). To test this, the experimental design was developed with individually growing bacteria species in agar plates with a pH of 3.5. Number of colonies growing in each replicate and treatment are in the following table pH 3.5 2.72 2.28 Species A 4.43 4.10 3.31 2.39 3.54 Species B 3.71 2.49 2.76 Considering this information please answer: What is the F value ofthe factor Species? Use up to two decimals maximum (example 9.88)
