Bailey v City After a "date night" at a casino with his wife the assistant fire chief, Mr. Bailey, was was stopped by the RCMP for speeding as as he was driving home. The RCMP officer smelled alcohol and asked Mr. Bailey to take a breathalyzer test. Mr. Bailey failed the test. The RCMP took possession of the truck he was driving and Mr. Bailey was given a 90 day ban on driving. The vehicle was an unmarked fire department pickup truck. When his employer - the City - learned that this happened a review of was carried out which verified all the facts. Mr. Bailey was terminated without notice stating that there was cause . Mr. Bailey was an exemplary employee and had never been in trouble with the law. Mr. Bailey plans to sue the City.
