A university is setting up an e-business system for its students to sell and buy second-hand textbooks. You are hired to model the following business process carried out through this new platform.
Business Process: Register Textbook to Sell
Narrative for this business process:
A student would like to sell a used textbook through the e-business system. Note that the e-business system is integrated with the university's enterprise system so students can simply use their university ID to login to this used-textbook selling system. After the student has logged in the system, the student can add a new listing by providing course code, course name and the complete textbook information, as well as the asking price. The student can also attach a few pictures of his/her textbook. After all the information has been input, the student will submit and confirm the listing. The system will generate a confirmation with a listing ID but telling the student that the listing is in pending situation because the textbook needs to be sent to the university bookstore to make the listing available.
The system will also prompt if the student would like to make an appointment for delivering the textbook to the bookstore. The student can choose to make an appointment now or another time. If the student chooses to make an appointment now, he/she will continue with choosing a date/time to deliver the textbook and confirm the appointment.
On the chosen date/time, the student will bring his/her textbook to the bookstore and meet with bookstore staff. The bookstore staff will check the listing and the textbook delivered to confirm everything is correct and then will change the listing's status to available. The bookstore staff will issue a receipt of receiving the textbook to the student. The bookstore staff will print out a sticker label which has a barcode and an asking price on it. Then the staff will put the sticker label on the textbook and put the textbook onto a second-hand textbook shelf.
