The move occurred on November 30, 2015, and the taxpayer plans to file his tax return in February 2016. The taxpayer does not know whether he will stay employed with this employer for all of 2016. the taxpayer incurred the following expenses related to the move: Plane flight for taxpayer and his family for the actual move $2500, Plane fare to California to find a new home $2500, costs affixing up the old home for sale $1500, lodging for house-hunting trip

$5000, costs of packing and moving household effects $10000, costs of storing baby grand piano after the new home was ready for occupancy (these storage costs were not transit related}, $1000, real estate taxes paid on old home at closing upon sale $3000. The taxpayer's employer did not reimburse him for any moving expenses.
