Batoosh is an artist who has paintings that sell for upwards of $100,000 each. Batoosh has no interest interacting with the buyers of his paintings
Batoosh is an artist who has paintings that sell for upwards of $100,000 each. Batoosh has no interest interacting with the buyers of his paintings so he hires Stefan to act as his agent to find the right home for his works of art (incidentally, Batoosh refers to each painting as his little babies). Batoosh authorizes Stefan to arrange for the sale of his paintings but wants to have the final say to make sure that he deems the ultimate buyers as worthy of owning a Batoosh original. Stefan negotiated with Cody for the sale of Batooshs most recent creation called Funky Cows in the City. Batoosh had placed a minimum price on this creation of $140,000 and Stefan had been able to negotiate nearly twice that price with Cody who was willing to pay $250,000 for the painting. Apparently, Cody thought that the painting would look fabulous in the grand entranceway of his sprawling ranch house. Stefan makes the deal with Cody and heads back to report the fabulous news to Batoosh. To Stefans surprise, Batoosh is furious with the sale. Batoosh, a lifelong vegetarian, is absolutely appalled that his painting would go to adorn the mansion of a cattle rancher and the owner of one of the countrys largest slaughter houses. Discuss the legal issues. In your answer, you should: i) identify the issue; ii) discuss the relevant legal principle(s); iii) apply the facts of the scenario to the legal principles; iv) provide a conclusion
