Bed Bugs and Unions

There is an interesting piece of news where some major Las Vegas hotels are finding bedbugs in the rooms. The unions dealing with the workers who clean rooms believe they have a solution. They argue that the reason for the bedbugs is that the hotels are becoming cheap when it comes to hiring room cleaners and are trying to beat down the union. They say that a daily cleaning of a room is critical to avoid bed bugs. If a hotel uses a once every few days option the bedbugs arrive. They also argue that they need a full$-$time schedule as workers, and not a part$-$time schedule.

The hotels want a part$-$time schedule. They save money! Several hotels even have a policy where you can opt out of room cleaning and you get paid $$10$ a night for this choice.

The unions are threatening a strike over this. They mention that the bad press over bedbugs can only get worse for the hotels.
