Before the flood Environmental sustainability has now become the most urgent issue of which humanity will need to address in order to ensure the very existing of future generations. Regardless of race, religion, color or creed, reversing the environmental damage caused by man in the last century is a pressing concern for all of civilization and which needs immediate action. According to the United Nations Global Assessment Report, it said that that in the last 100 years, nature has been destroyed at a rate of tens to hundreds of times higher than of the last 10 million years combined. The health of the ecosystem on which we and other species depends on is deteriorating more rapidly than ever. We are eroding the very foundation of economies, livelihoods, food, security, health and quality of life worldwide. This phenomenon is brought about by different stakeholders within society with governments and corporations being at the center of it all. The latter are most often labelled as the catalyst for this trend. As future Project Managers, you will undoubtedly be faced with an assignment which is influenced by Environmental Social and/or Governance sustainability The following mission requires each group to design a project aimed at reducing Environmental impact by one of the contributing stakeholders within society. The targeted stakeholder could be a specific government, corporation or even on an individual human level. The objective is to use all that has been learned in this program to create a project which will help guide the stakeholder towards environmental sustainability. Your project team will need to create this assignment with the intention of introducing it to the targeted stakeholder. The project guidelines are listed below: Instructions: 1. Provide a condensed Statement of Work" (SOW) describing the project that you are about to undertake (No more than 500 words - mention: Introduction and background, objectives and Timeline) 2. Design an activity table for this special project along with the sequencing for each task that you want the stakeholder to follow. Briefly provide a name and description for each activity. (Minimum of 10 activities) 3. Assume that you have a pessimistic, likely, and optimistic estimates for how long each activity is predicted to take. Using the beta distribution, estimate the activity duration for each activity using the TE standard formula, calculate the expected durations (no need to consider variance calculation for the solution). (Show calculation - use formula learned in slides) 4. Create an activity network diagram that shows the sequential logic between the activity tasks mentioned above. Make sure to clearly demonstrate the sequential, concurrent, burst and merge relationships between the activities. *A SOW is a detailed narrative description of the work required for a project. Effective SOWs contain: i) Introduction and background Timeline and milestones Objectives Before the flood Environmental sustainability has now become the most urgent issue of which humanity will need to address in order to ensure the very existing of future generations.
