below is a response to questions asked in a forum. I am looking for a to what one would think of the answers provided. If possible could there be a Biblical and2 peer reviewed references used.

  1. Detail the overall research design in the Ohio Lottery case. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this design?

The Ohio lottery board was designed with good intentions. It was an additional source of funds to assist with student education in the state of Ohio. The Ohio Lottery makes up 7% of the education fund in the state; therefore, the state depends on funding from the lottery board, and in this case is looking for ways to increase the funds . The research was designed to find out what attracts people to play the lottery. This research was also created to gain insight on the nonplayers as well, and how to possibly turn them into players. They initially used a direct experiment where they manipulated the quantitative of the variable to generate the results in the statistically analytical data. The hypothesis was not perceived from the scientific research method, it was more geared toward the null scientific method. This can be a difficult method because, they are taking the natural scientific resources out of the experiment and more so inviting opinions and preference into the matter. On the negative side, when we tend to take away the natural elements of something, it affects the behavior of the natural variable.

  1. Evaluate the MET process. What are some of the strengths and weaknesses of the MET technique?

Upon realizing that communication in this research is more nonverbal and geared to reaction and feelings, The researchers chose to use the MET method, which is a way to gain insight based on the participates no verbal response to winning the lottery. The ZMET technique was used to abstract the metaphors, constructs and mental models that drove customers to the stores to pay the lottery. The quantitative analysis asissted with the marketing mixture strategies.

  1. What measurement scales are used in the sample questions provided. Why might the lottery attitude and lottery importance question have presented the most challenge to the professional researchers?

In this research, the researchers used the interval scale to obtain the data that was needed in this research. The likert scale was their preference. The likert scale is a psychometric scale mostly used in research that employees' questionnaires. It is widely used to scale responses in survey research. Although there are other scales , this one has been proven effectively globally to best scale attitudes and personal views on a subject. The challenge comes in when you are asking for someone's attitude on a matter, which is considered as their preference. We all know that preference can vary from person to person. Also, it can be specific to a certain culture or environment; therefore, the sample must be diverse. The good thing about the likert scale is that it gets the person's direct feelings which is different from the MET outcome. This research might be a challenge due to the large number of questions on the surveys however, if need be, the researcher can solicit more sample to further prove their research.

  1. Using text Exhibit12-2, map out the likely quantitative instrument contents.

The questionnaire that was used by the researchers in the survey given to the participates was to better understand the many components that interested the lottery players and the non-lottery players. The survey rated the participates response from 1 to 7; the lesser number on the scale meant that the essence of the question did not mean much to the participate, the higher the number is to 7 meant that the essence of the question meant a great deal to the participate. The questions were meant to measure the participates responses, there was no right or wrong response to the questions on the questionnaire.

  1. The survey contained several questions that would alert the researchers that the participant was not taking the research process seriously. Is this a good or poor idea? Why?

I think the alert questions are very important. The survey was approximately 39 minutes which is an extremely long to be taking a voluntary survey. One would need to have passion for the research or an interest in the study in order to remain focus and on track. Throwing in an alert question every now and again helps the researchers measures the authenicity of the research. The researchers want to assure themselves that they chose the right candidates and that they are getting authentic feedback. If the participate experience fatigue while taking the survey and the researchers does not get raw authentic feedback, this defeats the purpose of the study.

  1. Evaluate the MET discussion guild for the Ohio Lottery Research.

In the initial phase of the research, the participates were showed pictures to rate their emotions and feelings toward the lottery. They were able to focus on verbally expressing their feelings toward the subject. The interviewer was able to write down their physical observation of the participates expression of their emotions during this process. During the second phase, the participants were asked to rank the pictures based on the importance in the nature of the pictures in a collage. By having the participated create collage, it gave the researcher idea of what was more relevant to the participates verses what appeared to be less relevant to the participates.

The bible does not really address gambling; however, the main focus of playing the lottery is to win money. The bible states that riches get in the way of a man's spiritual benefits, (Mark 4:19 and 10:25). The bible states that no one can have to masters, one is going to get neglected. We can not serve God and money at the same time.
