Below, you will find seven group of individuals or groups of people from different parts of the world who you are planning to interview. For each of these you are asked to choose which interview technique you plan to use and why.

You may choose from the following four techniques :

• Structured Interview
• Semi-structured interview
• Unstructured interview
• In-depth interview

There is considerable flexibility for an interviewer to choose which interviewing techniques to use in given situations. The important thing is for you can give good reasons for your choices. Those reasons can relate to a range of considerations such as the topic of the interview, the kind of person or groupto be interviewed, the amount of time available to you for preparation and the interview itself, and your own capabilities.

Make a short statement in which you assess your own capacity to carry out semi-structured interviews. The statement should include a description of the skills, knowledge and attitudeswhich you already have which would help you undertake such interviews and what areas you feel you would need to work on to become good at undertaking such interviews.
