Ben is travelling overseas for an extended period and decides to garage his Porsche with U-Beaut Storage. Ben deposits the car and pays the storage fees after which he is handed a document that has the word 'receipt' printed in bold type on its face. On the back of the document are conditions relating to storage of property, which include an exclusion of any liability for damage or loss to property held in storage. The manager does not draw Ben's attention to the conditions. The manager later realises that the vehicle has been put in an incorrect garage. While moving the car to the correct garage bay he collides with a concrete column and causes considerable damage to the vehicle. Advise U-Beaut Storage as to whether the exclusion clause can be relied on to escape liability for damage to Ben's Porsche
