Bertrand is the manager of the Lazy Dog Public House. Bert is also Chief Walrus of the Walrus Club, a philanthropic organization which meets at the Lazy Dog in a clubroom at the rear of the premises on the first floor, each Monday evening from 4-7 p.m. Reginald, the Treasurer of the Walrus Club with other members, remains on the licensed premises of the Lazy Dog until 12 midnight, the bars having closed at11p.m. at the end of licensing hours. Reginald leaves the clubroom via an unlit emergency staircase in search of the bathroom, which he knows to be outside in the car park. Reginald slips down the unlit iron staircase, severely injuring his spine. Jim, accompanied a friend Tom, a the paying customer, to the Lazy Dog Public House. At approximately 10:30 pm, Jim after seemingly having a few glasses too many, went through a door clearly marked staff only and fell down breaking his leg. Jim was searching for the bathroom. Ring Din and Tim Tim, two children, who knows that the club meets every Monday usually creep over around 5:00-5:30pm. They had noticed a little tear in a fence to the far end of the property and used this as their usual mode of entering the property to search the bins for leftover food. On this particular evening, Tim Tim shortly after entering the property, stepped on an electrical cord and suffered severe burns from an electric shock. Ring Din panicked as he has never seen anything like his before. The doctors advised that he was in a psychiatric shock, but it would only be temporary.
The Property Manager knew of the tear in the fence, as just the week, before they had to chase Rover, a German Shepherd that came through the fence. However, since they had called in a contractor to fix the electrical problems as well as the fence, they assumed it would be done in due time. Advise Bert and the Gnat's Water Brewery Co., owners of the Lazy God, as to their liability for Reginald's, Jim's Ring Din's and Tim Tim's Injuries.
