Bev is a 43 year old middle-aged adult female with a 21 year old young adult daughter, Aubrey, living at home. Bev has never legally been married, although she did live common-law with her daughter's father for a couple of years, until her daughter turned a year and a half; at that time, they separated.

Bev began working at age 17. She continued to work into her post-secondary years of schooling and became a mom at 21 while still in school. She continued working, even as a single mom at 22 years old and stayed in school, although she took fewer classes so there would be more time to spend with her daughter. Bev has struggled with her weight since she was around 11 until just recently and has finally been able to keep her weight down and in a healthy range.

Bev had some serious relationships throughout the years, but they all failed; it seemed she always pushed her partners away once they became serious so she wouldn't be the one to be hurt. Now, her daughter, Aubrey, is studying in university and also working part time. She helps out at home with housework and they have a close relationship. Aubrey is also single but dates both men and women.

Recently, Bev was diagnosed with depression and a mood disorder. Aubrey was diagnosed with bipolar and ADHD. Both sought treatment in the form of therapy and are now taking medication to assist them .
