Bill, as landlord, and Sue, as tenant, sign a 1-year lease for an apartment in Bills apartment building with a monthly rent of $2,000 and a security deposit of 2 months rent. After Sue moves in, there is constant noise coming from the apartment next door. Sue cannot even participate in Zoom meetings at work because of all this noise. Sue complains to Bill and Bill says he will investigate it. The noise continues, Sue again complains to Bill and Bill again says he will investigate it. The noise continues, Sue rents another apartment, moves out of Bills apartment after 1 month and informs Bill she is leaving and wants her security deposit back.
