Bill Dodds was the accounts payable manager of Big Build Property Management Ltd. Bill started with the company as a bookkeeper and worked up to his current management position due to his dedication to the company and his reliability. Despite making a good wage, Bill enjoyed living large, and the majority of his pay went to paying for his luxury car and designer clothes, leaving little for savings.

Big Build Property Management rewarded its employees by paying a bonus based on meeting profit targets. At the end of 2022, the company announced it had the worst year in it's history and made significant lay-offs resulting in the accounting department being reduced by 35% with the remaining staff asked to do more. Bill was now managing an unhappy accounts payable group and also was assigned the responsibility to sign cheques, process payables, and reconcile the bank account. Bill was working even more without any pay increase or bonus in sight. For the first time in his career Bill was unhappy.
