Bill Doors wondered what he was going to do now. His company, Zerf Technology, knew it had to have a web page in order to stay in step with the high tech industry that bought his products. What he hadn't counted on was orders pouring in from countries he hadn't ever heard of. On which continent is Equatorial Guinea?

Zerf Technology began in a mini-warehouse storage facility rather than Bill Doors' garage because Bill lived in a condo without individual garages. His primary product is a battery for portable computers that lasts for 8 to 10 hours without recharging. Now Zerf uses the services of 30 sales agent across North America to sell the product to large end users (companies with laptops for all salespeople, for example) and OEMs. With the product available for only a year and a half, Bill has long outgrown the mini-warehouse and now utilizes a full-scale production facility. Sales have been good, but market penetration in the United States has been slower than Bill believes it has to be. Production could be increased by 50 percent easily, Once a battery is sold, there is little post-sale service required. The batteries weigh less than a pound and can be shipped via any overnight delivery service.

At Comdex, the large computer show, several European distributors approached Bill about the possibility of entering Europe. Looking in the geographical section of his dictionary, Bill learned that Equatorial Guinea is on the west coast of Africa. A mining company with mines around the world wants 50 units shipped to Equatorial Guinea.
