Bill is a 32-year-old male who has worked as an EMT and fireman for most of the last 10 years. He tells you that he can't sleep because he has intrusive dreams. The more he talks to you, the more he reveals that thoughts of his accident victims often pop into his head throughout the day and these symptoms have existed for several months now. Sometimes they are troubling thoughts, but often he just can't stop thinking about them and says it doesn't really bother him. He has gotten to where he doesn't want to go to work and recently took a leave of absence which did not help. He tells you that even though he is not working he is always "looking for a fire" or someone in trouble. He doesn't know what he would do if he wasn't an EMT, but he doesn't feel like he can give up this part of his life.
Among your group members, address:

- What differential diagnoses are possible? In other words, what else have you ruled out that is similar and why?
