Question:
Bill wants to explore factors affecting work stress. For example, he would like to examine the relationship between age, years at the workplace, perceived social support, and work stress. He collects data on the variables from 100 employees (males and females) working in banks.
The research question is how accurately can work stress be predicted from the linear combination of the predictors (age, social support, number of years at the workplace)?
Conduct a multiple regression analysis to answer the following questions:
From the assignment data, it can be deduced that;
- Work stress is positively affected by the worker's age, with an older worker experiencing less stress.
- Work stress is positively affected by the number of years served at a workplace, with a lesser tenure leading to less stress.
- A positive perception of social support received is positively correlated with less stress at the workplace.
Because this is a regression, the RH/AH should ask about the relationship between the group of predictor variables and the lone criterion variable (not directional, ideally). And the null hypothesis should mirror the language of the RH/AH. So how can I state the hypothesis for this study?
