Bob agreed to loan Ann his camera. Ann used the camera to take photographs for her companys outdoor picnic. Bobs camera was a high quality and Ann did not have one to use of her own or otherwise. During the company picnic, she took photos of employees and their guests. Unfortunately, Ann either mislaid or lost the camera following the picnic that day. Despite efforts to find the camera, it did not turn up.

Ann contacted Bob following the picnic. She told him that someone stole the camera. She even contacted the local police and made a police report. Bob understood the situation she described and was personally moved by the fact she reported the so-called theft to the authorities. Bob told Ann not to worry and that he was submitting a claim for loss under his homeowners insurance policy.

The next day, Ann found the camera located in her cars trunk. Embarrassed by what occurred, she did not inform either the police or Bob about locating the camera. Since she believed Bob was going to recover the loss from insurance monies, Ann kept the camera for her continued use. What torts, if any, do you recognize by the above set of facts? What do you recommend Ann does/does not do? Assume that Bob later learns that Ann found his camera and used it without informing him about these matters. Does your assessment change? Why / why not?
