Bob the builder, an employee uses his +1 ton carrying capacity Motor Vehicle utility for work purposes. He works at different work sites and is required to attend these sites as directed by his employer. Most nights he gets a SMS text message from his boss instructing which site to attend or sometimes he just knows he is at a site for an extended period. His utility has permanent affixed work boxes which contain his tools but also he has some of his employers specialty equipment on board from time to time along with materials needed on occasions. He is paid a Travel Allowance from his employer as part of his Wage package totaling $18,220. He also has his dog which he takes to work each day to act as security around his Car Utility for the day so no tools are stolen when on the work sites. He has all receipts & has kept a log book for 4 months straight. Marks 5 Details of his travel expenses are as follows: Operating costs of his Car including Interest & Depreciation $24,121 Tolls & Parking $1440 RACQ breakdown insurance $60 Speeding Fines $1890 Panel Beating costs (Bob had an accident) $5900 Dog food, care and medical expenses - security protecting his tools $500 His Log book shows his complete travel for the 4 months - 34,000km. His travel from home to the first work site and then from the last work site back to home was 28,000km. He does not use this vehicle for any other private travel. Whilst Bobs car was being fixed at the panel beaters, he used his WRX sports car to go to work and do the same trips. This travel was not in his other log book, but he still carried in the car some of his hand tools (< 40kg). Total KM he traveled in his WRX was 1100km according to his Trip Computer settings.
