WHY WINTER EVENTS
It refects the essence of Queenstown, showcasing our place to the worldcreates opportunity for celebration within our regional community. It boosts (the) economy in an otherwise quite time of (the) year and develops Queentowns reputation as a premier winter destination. Attendance: 45% local 46% domestic 9% international - To continue both events as festivals that tell stories and make images that imprint themselves on the worlds retina and place Edinburgh and Scotland at the heart of the worlds consciousness of winter celebrations. Attendance: 20% local 53% domestic 27% international
OVERVIEW
For generations the Bon Soo Winter Carnival has been wowing Northern Ontario with frozen winter magic, ice carved sculptures and a massive variety of entertainment appealing to a variety of ages. Now in its 60th year a steering group has come together to analysis the festival in order to develop a successful model for the festivals future.
ACTIVATION TO DATE
Recruit a 2023 steering committee made up of representatives with practical board abilities:
PR, Financial, Marketing, Institutional Memory, multiple Tourism and Arts and Culture Representatives.
- Build marketing materials (sponsorships, website, program) -
Develop a social media marketing campaign -
Reach out to post secondary to discuss collaboration -
Reach out to School Boards to discuss collaboration -
Secure venues for the festival
GOALS + OBJECTIVES
To create an annual sustainable winter festival that isnt 100% reliant on weather conditions -
To identify programming that will attract the 19-29 crowd to the event (Examples: EDM Snow Bath etc) -
Create a process to determine what does and does not qualify as a Bon Soo event -
To identify 2-3 high impact low time investment fundraising strategies prior to the festival dates -
To develop marketing tactics that will attract 19-29 year old tourists to the festival
Write a full report of at least 10 pages and with problem statement ,analysis, recommendations and implementations with contingency plan and budget for the above given case and taking the consideration of following report data

- "Arctic Roar: Monster Truck Igloo Bash"
Date and Venue:
- GFL Memorial Gardens. Starts from February 12th till February 14th.
Special guest appearance: DJ Khaled
Collaboration & sponsoring with beverage brands such as Smirnoff, Absolute, Jack Daniels, Marlboro, Monster Jam.
Local food trucks or food vendors and merchandise selling shops can set up their stalls and carts.
Event include:
1. Monster Truck Stunt show:
- Feature high-octane performances by renowned monster truck drivers.
- Include jaw-dropping stunts, jumps, and thrilling freestyle sessions.
2. Igloo Bars:
- Create unique igloo-shaped bars scattered around the venue.
- Serve hot and cold beverages, including signature winter cocktails, craft beers, and warm beverages.
3. Monster Truck Rides:
- Offer attendees the chance to experience a short ride in a mini monster truck.
- Set up a designated track for these rides, ensuring safety measures are in place.
4. Igloo Lounge Areas:
- Create cozy lounge areas inside larger igloos with comfortable seating and fire pits.
- Provide a unique space for attendees to relax and enjoy the winter ambiance.
5. Live Music and DJ Sets:
- Arrange live music performances with bands that complement the high-energy atmosphere.
- Have a DJ playing between monster truck shows to keep the crowd pumped up.
12. Food Truck Village:
- Curate a selection of food trucks offering a variety of winter comfort foods.
- Include options like gourmet grilled cheese, hearty stews, and s'mores stations.
15. Merchandise and Souvenirs:
