Boocs Ltd is a successful publisher with several bestselling authors. Unfortunately, during the Covid-19 pandemic, problems with printing facilities overseas, where their books are produced, meant that production was lost between March 2020 and March 2021. The company was unable to find alternative printers and so lost significant sales over the period. The company has found it difficult to continue to meet its salary bills and rental for its warehouse. Boocs Ltd granted a floating charge over its undertaking to Crest Bank several years ago. It is currently unable to meet the interest payments on the bank loan. Once the immediate production problems are over, there is every expectation that the business should return to its normal profitable state. To avoid the possibility of a liquidator or receiver being appointed before the company has a chance to recover, the Managing Director of Boocs Ltd is considering the prospect of examinership.
