Your case write-up should start with an executive summary of the case issues and your recommendation(s). The remainder of the brief should present in greater detail the analyses which support your conclusions. The questions provided below have been prepared to help guide you toward the issues that your analysis should address, but these questions should not be directly answered 1,2,3,4, etc., in your case write-up. Rather, the write-up should be a smoothly flowing memo to your manager that coherently, concisely, and convincingly presents your analysis and recommendations. In most cases, the earlier questions build up to allow for gaining understanding on how to deal with the later questions, that often relate to the crux of the matter. As in real life business contexts, case studies present an overload of data. While it is crucial to support your arguments with reference to the data, it is also important that you demonstrate your ability both in picking the right data and in dealing with the data appropriately to support your analysis. Also, bear in mind not to spend much space on regurgitating case facts, as your manager will be aware of those. Provide thoughts on any obstacles to implementation of your recommendation and how to overcome these. Case briefs are limited to 2 pages, single-spaced, 12 point Times Roman text. You can use up to 3 additional pages for exhibits, provided that the exhibits support the arguments in the text, are explicitly referenced in the text, and there is a clear title or explanation on each exhibit page describing what the exhibit illustrates. Exhibits provide a means of supporting points that are made in the write-up (i.e., not for introducing new points for your analysis/recommendations). Please do not include more than one exhibit per page. Do not use a cover sheet, but instead use the footer to include Section number, group number and names of team members. Only one member of the team needs to upload the case brief through the team assignment function on Canvas. Please ensure that it is clearly agreed upon who bears that responsibility. Late briefs are not accepted and you will receive a zero score. Always retain a copy of any written work you submit, and bring it to class to refer to in the discussion. 1.
