Brazil's Unemployment Crisis is the Worst in 20 Years

From the otherwise favorable rate of unemployment in 2012 of 4.5 percent, Brazil's unemployment hit a staggering 13.7 percent in 2017 with more than 14 million unemployed. Brazil is suffering from an unemployment crisis even worse than the 11 percent rate of 2003. Adding to this is the unsustainable public debt, the falling price of oil (so lack of investments in this field), corruption and the need for reforms.
