He has also been in the news for some less innocuous reasons. Most recently, he was accused of sending photos of himself naked to a female reporter, Jen Stencil. The police decide to investigate and get a warrant to search his home.

On the day of the search, Bret Cheesehead is at his home. When he answered the door, he appeared to be slurring and drunk. The police entered the home and found his telephone, which had the incriminating photos. There was also evidence on the phone that Bret repeatedly sent the photos to the reporter, despite her text messages demanding he stop contacting her.

Upon realizing he was busted, Bret ran at one of the police officers with a large crystal trophy and threw it at his head. The police officer ducked in time, and the crystal trophy struck Bret's drinking buddy and fellow football player, Ben Hamburgler, in the head instead. Ben had been watching television and had not seen the crystal trophy coming. Ben crumbled to the floor bleeding.
