Brett had just moved into a house with his dog, Nola, a Dogo Argentino. Nola was a very friendly dog. Brett decided to have a housewarming party and he invited his friends and new neighbors to his house. Everyone was having a great time until Nola bit Tim, one of Brett's new neighbors, on the arm. Tim was rushed to the hospital and had to have 20 stitches. Tim was furious and immediately sued Brett for "strict liability" for Nola's bite. Tim specifically said that Nola's breed, Dogo Argentino, is a violent dog breed that has been banned in other countries and because of that, Brett should have known that his dog was violent.
