Brian Smith, network administrator at Technologie et Energie Avantages (TEA), was givenresponsibility for organizing and carrying out the migration of the data center to a new company facility. Rigorous planning is a must, since TEA operates in the hyperconcurential oil industry. TEA is one of five companies developing accounting and management software for companies specializing in oil drilling and transport. A few years ago, it entered the world of application service provision. Its large data center offers customers a complete range of application systems for their activities. Traditionally, one of TEA's competitive advantages has been the reliability of its IT infrastructure. Due to the complexity of this project, the company's executive board wants to conduct a preliminary analysis of the early project completion date. Brian compiled the following information to perform a PERT analysis. 1. Based on these estimates and the estimated average total duration of the project (around 70 days), the executive committee would like to know the probability of completing the project in 68 days. 2. The executive committee is very concerned about this project. The committee therefore decided to analyze the duration of each activity. Before proceeding with this analysis, it asked Brian to calculate the estimated duration of the project, with a 93% probability of completion in 68 days
